Mixtapes & Cellmates are finally here with their long awaited debut album!
Their 2 previous EP releases on the continent have given them a name all over Europe and the word keeps spreading. Their debut album was recorded in the northern outbacks at David Sandström´s house. Oskar Sandlund (Producer) made it all come together beautifully. Mixtapes shined. David made dinner and coffee. The result is a diverse, compelling & an absolutely beautiful album. The Postal Service, Hood, The Sea & Cake, JAMC.....whatever?! Influences may show but in the end Mixtapes have made something that is so rare today. An album that is personal, untouched by trend-sensitive-know-it-alls and just filled with melodies, gorgeous passages and hooks. Stunning. Congratulations to all of us.

Mixtapes & Cellmates hail from Stockholm in Sweden. Since forming in 2006 they were signed in Sweden by Nomethod records and with them released their 2nd EP ‘If There Is Silence Fill It With Longing’. The release was followed by extensive touring and festivals with bands such as Dinosaur Jr, Bloc Party, Justice and Uffie. Tangled Up! Recordings are excited to sign them and bring their self titled debut album and debut UK single ‘Quiet’ to a deprived audience!

As well as recording their debut album, Mixtapes and Cellmates have been busy working on some other projects: writing the end score for "Du och Jag" and songs for the Swedish documentary "Pappa kom hem", debuting at the Umeå Film Festival in September. In early 2008 they’ll be writing the complete score for a new Swedish movie and touring Europe, so look out in gig venues and cinemas near you!
