Award- winning singer, songwriter, producer, and musical theater performer Daníel Ágúst has also scored a tv film, a documentary film and a short film, and composed music for the Iceland Dance Company.

He began his career as a singer/songwriter with the Icelandic pop/rock group Nydonsk. Over the 7 year period while performing in Nydonsk, he earned five gold records and various awards. These awards included "Best Male Singer" and "Best Live Performance."

He starred as Pontius Pilate in "Jesus Christ Superstar", helping to create one of the most successful performances of a musical in Iceland to date.

In 1994 he produced an album with an Icelandic techno/rock group called Bubbleflies, and was introduced to the world of electronica.

A year later, in 1995, he became one of the co-founders of the musical collective GusGus. They experienced international success and toured Europe and the United States several times, releasing two internationally acclaimed albums, "Polydistortion" (1997 4AD Records) and "This is Normal" (1999 4AD Records).

He wrote and/or co-wrote the hit singles "Polyesterday" (1996, 1997), "Believe" (1997), "Ladyshave" (1999) and "Starlovers" (1999), three of which were number one singles in Iceland.

Five years ago Daníel left GusGus and started his solo project – a unique blend of symphonic orchestration and pop melodies which he has constructed, composed and arranged. Together with Bix he has created an exceptional soundscape in the post production adding all sorts of percussive and ambient elements that makes the musical experience quite a ride.
